Over the Clouds
How to make the best of your transportation time

Depending on where your special someone is located, you might spend

quite some time commuting and travelling.

Here are my seven top tips on how to make the best of your time during flights:

1 - Earplugs

Make sure that you get some rest during the flight. You will be spending the
next hours or days with your favorite person. Take time to fuel up on energy!
Earplugs help you to relax or sleep - eliminating all disturbing noise.

2 - Neck pillows

Neck pillows are great! I always have trouble finding the right position to get really comfortable on planes. This item definitely helps. Plus: it keeps your head off your neighbour's shoulder.

3 - Water

The flight attendants don't always wait next to your seat to take your wishes. And let's be honest, sometimes you are to lazy to observe their whereabouts and to find the right moment when to ask them for a beverage. Keeping a water bottle

takes away this stress. Moreover it is very important for your skin to stay hydrated!

4 - Headphones

In general airplane headphones suck. Bring your own. They ll fit your ears.

As easy as that.

5 - Comfortable shoes

If I am honest...it's more about "which shoes can you remove quickly to get most comfortable?".

6 - Scarf

This advise is more for the ladies. A scarf=a blanket=a warm neck=a pillow.
An item very versatile that doesn't need a lot of space. Bring it along.

7 - Notebook

You never know what crazy idea you ll have or whose contact or what observation you need to scribble down. Or perhaps you need a place to put your chewing gum.

Travel tips for flights

The Big Apple

Why New York City is a great place to go

I am a big fan of NYC. A few years back I lived there for a while. And I would always go back without a second of hesitation. There is so much to do, to see and to discover. And it clearly is the city that never sleeps. The action goes on day and night. You find a crazy nightlife, stunning architecture, wonderful museums, great restaurants, the best mimosas for sunday bruch and a wide variety of cultures coming together.

I will present you some of my favorite things about New York City - but be sure there is more to come! :)

#1 - American Museum of Natural History

I am easily fascinated. Even more so when there is something to learn or explore. Consequently I am a big fan of the American Museum of Natural History in NYC (the one in DC comes on second place). I especially love the section about dinosaurs. Really cool stuff. And when you got enough of it, there is a room at the very end of the room, in form of a rotunda. There you have an amazing view over the central park and the busy people on the street. Let the sun shine on your face, get some rest and enjoy.

#2 - The Roof Top Bar of the "Empire Hotel"

Oh how much I loved spending the nights with friends in some rooftop bar

with the amazing view over the city. I am very fond of the Empire Hotel Bar because this was the place where I spent my first night in NYC. Back then they shot Gossip Girl in the building, which was really exciting for me (Yep, I was a big fan...nevertheless I walked through a take because they blocked the hotel entry and I was determined to get to my room). It's located close to Central Park and Columbus circle. And the shots that are most fun are definitely "Kamikaze" - their color is light green.

#3 - Sunday Brunches & Mimosas

Brunches and Mimosas are a essentially correlated with NYC. Legimiate daydrinking...mimosas are a cocktail made of champaign and orange juice, served in champaign glasses.
You ll find it at every corner. Why not start your day with a long brunch and good friends?

These were only three out of many things that I like about new york.
So there is more to come!
The city is definitely worth a trip!
